Yes, of course to me animals have emotions and feelings. But, this thought is only useful in case of larger animals like elephant, tiger, etc. And in case of invertebrates this fact is not true or we can say that not apply on all the animals. For example, some scientist says that bees show some feelings when they reaches towards their food.

so, we can say that animals have emotions but not in invertebrates.

Yes animals have emotions, Charles Darwin was one of the first scientists to write about the existence and nature of emotions in nonhuman animals. His observational and sometimes anecdotal approach has developed into a more robust, hypothesis-driven, scientific approach. General hypotheses relating to correlates between humans and non-human animals also support the claim that non-human animals may feel emotions and that human emotions evolved from the same mechanisms. Several tests, such as cognitive bias tests and learned helplessness models, have been developed. Cognitive biases (feelings of optimism or pessimism) have been shown in a wide range of species including rats, dogs, cats, rhesus macaques, sheep, chicks, starlings, pigs and honeybees.

As, animals have emotions so they must be kept in captivity.Especially, the wild animals as they could attack another animal and kill them. In the zoo, trainers take care of them, feed them everyday and make sure they are not hungry. And, the third reason is they should be kept in captivity because they entertain us. When we go to the circus, we are entertained by animals.

but, invertebrate animals does not required any captivity. Invertebrates are those which do not have backbone, for example - snail, starfish, spider, earthworm etc.
